Welcome to The RPG Chronicler. Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Discord bot and web application to record and summarize your tabletop roleplaying games.
2. Information We Collect
When you use The RPG Chronicler, we may collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Your Discord ID, username, and avatar when you authenticate.
- Audio Data: Temporary audio streams from Discord voice channels while the bot is actively recording (!listen). This audio is processed via Google Speech-to-Text and immediately discarded. We do not store raw audio files.
- Session Transcripts: Text transcripts generated from your audio sessions. These are stored securely to generate your "World Brain" lore and summaries.
- Usage Data: Basic analytics regarding feature usage (e.g., how many summaries generated) to improve our service.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to provide the features of The RPG Chronicler:
- Processing audio into text.
- Using Generative AI (Google Gemini) to summarize transcripts and extract entities (NPCs, items, locations).
- Generating vector embeddings to power the World Brain search feature.
We do not use your campaign data to train public AI models. Your data is siloed and used only for your specific account and server.
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We rely on trusted third-party services to function:
- Google Cloud Services: For Speech-to-Text and Gemini AI generation. Data sent to these APIs is subject to Google's enterprise privacy commitments.
- Discord: For authentication and audio capture.
We do not sell your personal data or campaign lore to third parties.
5. Data Security
We implement standard security measures to protect your transcripts and lore, utilizing secure database connections and encrypted environment variables.

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated World Brain data. To do so, please contact us via our support channels.
